#EMBERS AD INFINITUM NOVELUPDATES TRIAL#
After completion of a few islands they must face a major trial to enter the mind corridor level. With each one cleared the range and strength of his powers increases. he and i returned to the state of being invisible and stiff before. As well as normal subjectivity, how do you rate a 1600 chapter novel (20 paperbacks) with one rating, especially if it becomes boring after 1200 chapters (as unfortunately several do) Anything 8.5 or above I would recommend, above 7.5 may be good. song bailao really came to the mountain to recuperate, and when the injury was healed, he also left. Maybe it's gonna become good later on, but as of now it's too boring to read for me, the start is incredibly weak, even more so than LOTM, and it doesn't show much premise of improving. The Mc has to clear mind islands which are basically manifestation of his fear. Ratings are even more uncertain than normal. I'm gonna wait for the novel to develop further and look at other people reaction, but if by chapter 300 the problems are still there I'm gonna give it up. Not being able to look into his thoughts is a major downside for me, I don't like the "mystery" of his personality/character, that we don't know how he is gonna act or things like that, it's just not a really good thing to substitute from being able to hear the main characters' thoughts as in normal novels (but this may just be my personal preferences).

I also found out that I don't really cheer for the main character, nor like him particularly. In LOTM, the beginning was not as bad (I actually liked LOTM beginning quite a bit), there was a mystery that grabbed you and wanted to make you keep reading to find out the how and why, the power system was also very cool and interesting to explore. The fact that we don't have first person thoughts of the MCs is also kinda annoying, it looks like there is no MC, or at least, he doesn't feel as centered as an MC usually does. It's definitely not bad, but a bit boring to me, there is nothing that tries to keep me reading or wants to make me keep going further.
